Department of Geography
The Department of Geography was established in the year 1971-72 and Prof. A. Q. Khan was the first Head of the Department. Previously the subject was taught at the pre-degree level by the teachers of History. In the year 1935-36, Prof. R. G. Patil was sent for completing a diploma in Geography to the Leeds University, England and later on he was appointed as a permanent teacher of Geography in Rajaram College.
At present the subject is taught from XI to the B. A. degree level. The department is enriched with a number of teaching and learning equipment. Twenty students are admitted at B.A.-III level every year. The result of the department is 100%. Various extra-curricular activities are conducted by ‘Geographical Society’. Lectures are conducted by eminent personalities on different subjects. Special guidance for competitive examination is given by the faculty of the department. Study tours are also arranged by the department.
